These policies have been instituted for customers who have decided to buy their own fixtures rather than purchase through a professional plumber. Consumer buying trends and proliferation and saturation of Do-It-Yourself Home Centers have changed the way consumers buy plumbing and kitchen products. We strongly advise that you purchase your products through a professional plumber, as there are many benefits through this exchange.

The most important benefit is that if anything goes wrong with a fixture (missing, defective, damaged, etc.), the plumber is responsible for getting the right one to you. This isn’t fully appreciated until something goes wrong on your job! Sometimes, defects don’t show up until the after the plumber has left the job. If you purchased this defective fixture on your own, the plumber will charge for another visit to diagnose, another visit to re-install, etc. However, if you purchased through the plumber, he will fix at no extra charge to you.

Another important benefit is that the plumber has established a relationship with his plumbing supplier, the plumber is assured that the products supplied are products that are quality, tried, true and consistent to what he is used to purchasing and installing. Purchase of home center fixtures by you will introduce products to the plumber that he may be unfamiliar with and may be inconsistent in quality. Be sure your plumber agrees that you are buying fixtures on your own. Some plumbers will not install home center bought products.

P&E believes that consumers should have a choice if they want to buy products on their own. We don’t have signs on our doors indicating that we are wholesale only. We are open to the public and are happy to do it!

The policies outlined below may not all pertain to your project. The purpose of this is to make the consumer aware of potentials and have the consumer take responsibility for their decisions.

Changes to Orders:
After order is placed, restocking charges will apply to material cancelled or changed. Some special order items have a no return policy. There will be no exceptions except if we’re in error.

Water Volume/Pressure:
Please note that it is the responsibility of the plumber to determine tub drain sides, shower seating, and proper water volume and pressure for faucets. If you are purchasing your own fixtures, the responsibility is yours. P&E will provide specifications for your components upon request.

Whirlpools/Large Tubs:
Whirlpools/large tubs often require additional hot water source(s). P&E will provide specifications including water capacity for each whirlpool/tub. It is your responsibility with your plumber to ensure you have the proper hot water capacity to accommodate a whirlpool/large tub. P&E will provide specifications at your request.

Shower Doors:
Tub/shower doors are available on select models only. Shower doors purchased through tub/shower manufacturers are custom-made for the selected model. Frame finishes and glass options are limited to their offers only. If you purchase shower door(s) through P&E Supply, please be sure you have a contractor to install the door(s). Glass companies will not install anything you do not purchase through them. If you don’t have your own installer, you will have to purchase door(s) through a glass company.

Multi-piece Units:
One-piece tub/shower units often cannot fit into existing wall spaces, entry doors, hallways, etc. Multi-piece units are manufactured for this purpose. They are designed to fit through spaces in sections. Some manufacturers require that sectional units be assembled and clipped together before installation. Most manufacturers do not require pre-assembly before installation. Please review specifications for your sectional tub/shower. It is your responsibility to make sure sections fit through spaces in your house. It is also your responsibility to make sure the sectional you are buying requires pre-assembly or not and if your space will accommodate assembly and set-into-place.

  • P&E is not responsible for inaccuracy or oversights in measurements.
  • P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision.

Faucets/Deck Thickness:
It is your responsibility to make sure you know your faucet(s) maximum deck thickness requirements. P&E will provide specifications for your faucets upon request. It is your responsibility to have your faucets on site for templating. This includes tile thickness for shower valves, body sprays, etc. P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision.

Toilets:
It is your responsibility to make sure you know what size and type of toilet you want. All standard toilet rough in’s are 12” and unless you indicate otherwise, that is what is provided. P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision. If you are using brushed or satin nickel faucets, consider changing the flush lever and toilet supplies to match. If changing toilet supplies, we would need to know for quoting and ordering if they are coming from the floor or the wall, and if copper or ips is being used by the plumber.

Pedestals or Wall Hung Sinks:
It is your responsibility to make sure you know what size and type of pedestal/lav will be appropriate for your project. Pedestals are not universal and have varying heights and widths P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision. If you are using brushed or satin nickel faucets, consider changing the pedestal supplies to match. If changing pedestal supplies, we would need to know for quoting and ordering if they are coming from the floor or the wall, and if copper or ips is being used by the plumber.

Vanities/Vanity Tops:
Most standard depths (front to back) are 21”. Some vanities are available in 18” depths for narrower spaces. Some vanities are available in a taller size. All single doors hinge on the right side, indicate hinge left if desired. All vanity drawers are standard right drawers. Some manufacturers offer left drawers, you must specify left if desired, we will then check with the manufacturer and confirm if the base is available with left drawers.

Standard vanity tops are 1” wider and 1” longer than vanity bases, i.e., a 24” base will have a standard 25”x22” to match. If your vanity is surrounded by 3 walls, (1 backwall, 2 sidewalls), the vanity top may have to be custom fit to be flush with the vanity base. Otherwise, you will need a “filler panel” with a toekick to fill in the 1” space. Some vanity companies offer a color-matched filler panel, others do not, in which you may consider having a carpenter do this for you. Vanity tops are available in custom size. A custom size would be appropriate if surrounded by 3 walls. Customers often prefer sidesplashes, please indicate if sidesplashes are desired.

Some companies offer integral sidesplashes, but most are loose only. Loose sidesplashes are what they are…loose and all sidesplashes will have a unique fit due to the size and shrinkage of both the top and the sidesplash. In our experience, customers are not happy with sidesplashes and the gaps they can have when matched up with the vanity top. Sidesplashes are not returnable. Be certain when ordering. While we try to ask these pertinent questions, it’s possible that they could be missed or be miscommunicated between customer and supplier.

Note: Applicable to ALL vanity tops in cultured marble, cultured granite, etc., shrinkage up to 1/16” per linear foot is possible – even with CUSTOM cultured tops.

You are responsible for sizing vanity tops and vanity bases. If applicable, blueprints often change over time, and we will not be responsible for size discrepancies. You will be issued a quote with sizes printed. You must review your quote and refer to your blueprints and/or floor plan to determine if sizing is correct on the quote. We will not be held responsible for items ordered incorrectly when a quote is issued. P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision.

Vanity bases and tops are made to order, the door style, wood, and color(s) are chosen by you, they are your decision and they are made for you. These are non-cancellable and non-returnable. Be certain before you order. In addition, since they are made to order, the factory cannot accommodate change orders once the order is placed.

Samples:
Samples are representative only – variations may occur and will not be exact.

Kitchen Sinks:
It is your responsibility to make sure you know what size and type of sink will be appropriate for your installation. It is your responsibility to have your sink on site for templating. Please take special note that undermount sinks cannot be installed with formica countertops. P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision.

Blueprints/Take-offs:
If you are buying your own fixtures, you are responsible for sizing vanity tops, vanity bases, tubs/showers, etc. Blueprints often change over time, and we will not be responsible for size discrepancies. You will be issued a quote with sizes printed. You must review your quote and refer to your blueprints to determine if sizing is correct on the quote. We will not be held responsible for items ordered incorrectly when a quote is issued.

Orders from Quotes:
You will be issued a quote with description printed. You must review your quote and refer to your blueprints and/or floor plan to determine if sizing is correct on the quote/specifications.. We will not be held responsible for items ordered incorrectly when a quote is issued. P&E will provide specifications when asked and they must be reviewed by you and will ultimately be your decision.
Please review your quote for any discrepancies. Refer to Changes to Orders above.

Clearance Items:
Note: These items are cash & carry only. If you are working with a plumber that has an account with us, these items will not be warranteed through that plumber or put on their account.
This purchase is your responsibility. You must register your items with the factory directly to ensure warranty.

Returns / Defective Material:
Returns will not be allowed after 30 days & must be accompanied by an invoice. Not all items are returnable and will be noted as such. Returns must be in original packaging and in re-sellable condition. Missing parts / damaged and/or defective product will be exchanged only. Please take time to inspect your product. Our policy dictates that we do not open any products that are factory sealed unless there is visible damage to the box, in that case, we will file a damage claim. Once product ships to jobsite, it is your responsibility to inspect for any hidden damages and report them immediately. Please note that if hidden damages are discovered, it is on an exchange basis only and subject to manufacturer approval. Only with manufacturer approval can exchanges be made. This is especially important with long lead, special ordered or unique items. Be sure to keep all boxes until the contents are set, installed, and tested. Typically, boxes are thrown out as soon as the product is taken out of it. Please be sure this doesn’t happen.

Delivery:
We will deliver most large orders at no charge to our local customers. It is at our discretion however, to assess a delivery charge if necessary, dependent on delivery size and location of jobsite. All orders are considered pick-up only unless you specify and we agree.

Warranty:
Most manufacturers require you to register your product with them. This is important should any issues come up, you will be in their database. All warranty claims are handled through manufacturers directly. They need to establish rapport and a file with you directly. Manufacturers will not credit labor, etc. for defective material. P&E Supply as a distributor for these companies does not take responsibility for defective material. Please take note.
